RSS PRE- LIFEGUARD ACADEMY (2 STEP) APPLICATION PROCESS

 1.   Please contact instructor Allen McNabb to set up a swim screening.

• Swim screening will be held during lunch times within school hours.  (outside of school hours can be arranged if needed)

• Swim screenings require student bring their own towel and swim suit.

• Swim screenings ask that student has a base swim ability of completing a
                    100metre swim (4 pool lengths) in a 3 minute time period.​

•  no fee is required to access the Kelowna Family YMCA for the purposes of a swim screening with instructor.

• Fill out the application form and return it to your Instructor.

• See your school counselor so that your courses can be adjusted for your individual student schedule.

-    Please complete application form and Student Interest Paragraph. 

COST: $700       (this fee saves candidates over $2000 compared to public courses)

The Program has associated costs of:
         - Facility Rental
         - Lifeguard course materials and certification costs
         - Lifeguarding rescue Equipment
         - Transportation
         - Any other costs incurred to operate the program

Please Note: To ensure that fees do not prohibit student participation, the Board will facilitate fair and confidential procedures to allow participation by students who would otherwise be excluded. Please contact the school Principal to discuss and explore options to recover the fees.
